Ivana Ristic’s Art and Fashion Exhibition “HERstory”

Serbian fashion designer Ivana Ristic will grace San Francisco to reveal HERstory: a solo art and fashion exhibition at the Design Guild SF Gallery. The opening reception will be held 8.13.09 from 7 to 9 pm.

Through fashion illustrations, photography, video, and a new design collection, HERstory shows us this artist’s vision of the future of fashion. The artist’s process of shape modification and garment deconstruction transforms traditional men’s clothing into distinctly feminine clothing. The new shapes of each garment playfully draw inspiration from different centuries, beginning in 19th century and extending into the future.

Several of Ristic’s affordable and origami-like designs will be on sale at the opening reception.
